Stubborn freckles of the wild clay from the polder near Amsterdam and a special wood-ash glaze with wood ash from Amsterdam prunings are characteristic of this Oer plate (I signed them on the bottom with the A of Amsterdam).
I have inspired the shape on the old tin plates of earlier times, as if they had been in the ditch for years and had been fished up again during dredging work.
My Oer plates originated from a special project with clay from the ditch of Miljuschka. Read more about this.
The plates are sturdy, quirky but also modern and contemporary. They combine very nicely with (wabi sabi) bowls. Set your table like a landscape and collect them, they are always one-of-a-kind … for a delicious meal or to serve from. Enjoy your meal!
My tableware is fired at a high temperature, making all items strong, food- and dishwasher safe.
