Stubborn freckles of the wild clay from the polder near Amsterdam, an orange kiss with a string and a special wood-ash glaze with wood ash from Amsterdam pruning wood are characteristic of this XL Oer plate (on the bottom I signed it with the A of Amsterdam).
The 2 small wabi sabi plates and eggshell bowls are also finished with a wood ash glaze and a rim of real gold. A one-of-a-kind-set!
I inspired the shape by the old, dented pewter plates from earlier times, as if they had been lying in the ditch for years and had been fished up again during dredging work.
My OER plates originated from a special project in which I worked with clay from the ditch of Miljuschka. Read more about this.
The plates are sturdy, quirky but also modern and contemporary and always one-of-a-kind. They combine very nicely with each other and with my (wabi sabi) bowls.
‘Set your table like a landscape and collect them’ … for a delicious meal or to serve from, enjoy your meal!
My tableware is fired at a high temperature, making everything strong and food safe. The gold edges are not dishwasher safe, so it is better to wash them by hand.
