Inspired by Indonesian culture and using old batik stamps, I formed this one-of-a-kind Batik plate. The batik relief is colored with a satin glaze and then finished with a matte stone white glaze.
The batik plates originated from a special collection of tableware that I made for the cookbook INDOROCK (the Golden Cookbook 2019) and INDOSTOK (2020) by chef Vanja van der Leeden and photographer Remko Kraaijeveld. Read more about this.
The plates are fired at a high temperature, making them strong and food safe and can be washed in the dishwasher. Delicious for many dishes … from satay to salad to cake!
